Photodynamic therapy is now becoming more popular due to more basic understanding of its mechanism ,more preclinical and clinical studies and applications.
You can see on this pictures of endoscopies of my case with failure of radiotherapy a universal standard of nasopharyngeal cancer treatment.
Endoscopy before photodynamic therapy showed a coarse nasopharyngeal mucosa,the bleeds came after my biopsy which revealed a residual squamous cell carcinoma.
Endoscopy after photodynamic therapy with Foscan as photosensitizer featured on the next picture.
You can see the difference condition between pre and post- PDT(photodynamic therapy),showing smooth and healthy mucosa and no residual cancer were found on biopsies following PDT.
