LASER THERAPY IN DIABETIC FOOT

TRANSCRANIAL LASER THERAPY for ISCHAEMIC STROKE

Transcranial laser therapy  is developed to counter the clinical symptoms &  signs of  ischaemic stroke.The neurological deficits left by stroke victims could not be overemphasized to bring down the quality of lives of these group of patients.The use of infra red irradiation had been described as safe to bring the relative regeneration of the brain neuron and improve the neurological signs of these unfortunate group of patients.

BASIC LASER COURSE & SEMINAR IN LASER MEDICINE & SURGERY by IKLASI(MAY,2014)

Around 60 doctors joined  Basic Laser Course and more than three times of these doctors attended the seminar of Laser in Medicine and Surgery.It seems likely that most participants were lady-doctors.(view this picture of mine with some of these lady-doctors following my lecture on laser safety and Photodynamic Therapy).
It should be mentioned here that most of the doctors were interested in aesthetic medicine rather than medical laser in broader sense.Pain management by laser is another field of interest of young doctors.Education & training are important steps to develop the knowledge & skills of these next generation of doctors in laser medicine & surgery.

A NEW YELLOW LASER WAS INTRODUCED

A new yellow laser module was introduced recently.Due to its characteristic wavelength it might be useful for a certain clinical application i.a. photodynamic therapy (PDT).

PENGOBATAN NYERI BAHU DENGAN LASER

Bapak W,pensiunan perusahaan BUMN menderita nyeri bahu ("shoulder hand syndrome")yang mengganggu aktivitas sehari-harinya.
Rasa nyeri spontan pada bahu kanan berakibat pada keterbatasan gerakan memutar dan mengangkat tangan kanannya.
Penderita ini juga mengidap penyakit diabetes mellitus (DM) tipe 2.
Riwayat keluarganya menunjukkan banyak anggota keluarga terkena diabetes.
Pengobatan  berupa suntikan insulin telah sejak lama diberikan.
Foto menunjukkan pengobatan dengan terapi laser yang telah dijalani selama 3 (tiga) sessi, berdampak pada derajat nyeri dari skala VAS (Visual Analog Scale) 7 sebelum terapi turun menjadi 3.
Selain menjalani terapi laser lokal  pada bahu,bapak ini juga menjalani terapi laser intravaskular yang diinfuskan melalui pembuluh darah balik(vena).
